Right now we allow to schedule tenants for deletion and delete them in parallel after 15 days. And we allow to don't wait those 15 days and do it at the moment through the console. This is what we have in the documentation for that last part:

We shouldn't make this feature go through the console and even have it in the documentation like this. We should make it work through the API - that is, no 15 day wait and still delete asynchronously.

Write the documentation first and work from there. When we're sure about that, implement.

One suggestion is to delete immediately and also leave it "scheduled for deletion", in case there is some object left lying around. Is that overkill? Seems like it could be dangerous. We'd also have to delete the name so it could be reused.
