    Description

      Understand https://github.com/maistra/istio-operator in the context of istio Gateway.

      Does it work with Istio Gateway? What features does it control? How does it interact with the control plane?

      Come up with a list of requirements for istio-operator and what implements those requirements. 

      Deliverable: document what is listed above and any changes needed to co-exist with istio-operator on OpenShift (without service mesh).
