For additional background, see the following exchange (and the surrounding thread) in Slack wg-subscriptions-notifications:

      https://redhat-internal.slack.com/archives/C093FV0K6PM/p1760709280212599?thread_ts=1760606761.700799&cid=C093FV0K6PM

In Slack exchanges about the initial implementation of the email notification for the Subscription threshold exceeded event type, the possibility of linking directly to the product variant page in the notification (Find out more section) was discussed. However, ENG believes that some investigation is needed to do this, so it is unlikely to be done in the first iteration of this function.

Per the request in the Slack thread, this issue is being created to track the change of the email notification text when this link can be added to the notification. (It is assumed that any ENG work needed to implement will be tracked in a separate issue that should be linked to this issue.)

      Current state

As of this date, the Find out more CTA (call-to-action) sentence for looking at the subwatch interface reads as follows:

View your subscription usage data in the Subscriptions Usage service.

This statement does not contain a link because there is no "default" page for subwatch. There is a default page for each platform (e.g., RHEL for x86). But adding that as a link would require awareness of which platform the notification relates to, and if the internals are platform-aware then they should also be variant-aware. In addition, if the notification is about a different variant, going to the default variant page could cause confusion and possibly even result in calls to support.

There is an option to link to the Subscription Services Overview page: https://console.redhat.com/subscriptions/overview

However, users would still have to use the left navigation to go to Subscriptions Usage > platform of choice and then use the variant filter on the page to navigate to the desired view. If users need in-notification documentation to perform those steps, then the notification text will be quite long, which could reduce user incentive to read the notification.

Future state, with link to variant page in notification

When ENG has determined that linking directly to the variant page is possible, the first sentence of the Find out more section needs to be changed. DOC and UXD discussed the following change as an option:

To view your usage data for [product variant], go to the [Subscriptions Usage service (link to specific variant page) ].

NOTE: DOC & UXD also discussed that 2 different links (product variant link, documentation link) in the same CTA paragraph might affect the readability. It might improve the readability to change the CTA paragraph to a bulleted list instead, with each of the 3 CTAs listed separately.
