This request originally came in via the OpenJDK containers tracker: OPENJDK-3142. Middleware, specifically Quarkus, will need a Maven 3.9 stack available in some UBI JDK images. Since the UBI JDK images pick up the maven modules from base RHEL we'd need to have a maven-3.9-module available in RHEL 9 to install from.

The latest available maven version in RHEL 8 or RHEL 9 is 3.8.x currently, which is insufficient due to Middleware needing a fixed version for https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MNG-7913 which is in 3.9.6 and better.
