Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)
Upgrade the Installer to use the AWS SDK v2 from v1
Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)
As AWS is planning to end support for AWS SDK v1 we need to upgrade the Installer to use the AWS SDK v2
Requirements (aka. Acceptance Criteria):
The Installer has migrated any use of the AWS SDK v1 to v2
As part of this work we need to:
- Backport this to 4.18.z if the backport is as simple as a "clean cherry pick"
- Create a document to capture the requirements to backport this work to 4.18.z if this is not as simple as a clean cherry pick
Background
AWS is planning to deprecate the SDK v1 in July 2025
