Background and Goal
Currently in OpenShift we do not support adding additional RHEL packages to cluster nodes. OCPBU-65 brings support for installing RHEL packages as dependencies of 3rd party applications. This feature is to consider everything related to customers choosing addition packages from RHEL as their primary target.
For example, a customer may want to make use of libreswan to connect to storage over IPsec, but it's not so common a use case that we want to add that package and its dependencies to every OCP deployment.
Acceptance Criteria
- Customers can use the RHEL Entitlement Operator to enable RHCOS builds with additional RHEL content.
- Customers can deploy additional RHEL packages to MachineConfigPools.
- Customers can easily remove added packages.
