      Feature Goal

      • To provide a simple and safe mechanism to manage RPM packages with MachineConfigPools.

      Why is this important?

      • Customers have demonstrable requirements to run software on their worker nodes that is not shipped in the RHEL CoreOS image.
      • While the Enterprise Linux ecosystem is increasingly embracing containerization, there is a long way to go in some areas.
      • We must give customers the ability to adapt OpenShift to their environment and its requirements.
      • However we can improve RPM hotfix delivery turnaround is a win for customers.
