(19/8) No new updates, everything was released last week. Old update: Addressed followup tasks in the followup Epic. Main story merged. A new Epic was opened to track the removal of the Banners.
The Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) architectures are being renamed.
The previous 'Rosa classic' architecture will be renamed:
- "Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (classic architecture)".
The newer Rosa architecture with hosted control planes will be renamed to:
- "Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS".
This requires updates to Rosa terminology in the UI and a new banner to announce the changes.
Doc Netta and I worked on in the scope of the meetings related to this feature:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1osmvLYjJHJ801i46xt_mjlicuSCvq0vO_KgScc_VnTI/edit?tab=t.0
Acceptance criteria:
- Show Information Banners to announce this change
- The banners will be placed on ROSA Get started page and 1st step of the Rosa Wizard.
- The banners will be an info alert and contain a link to a knowledge base article.
- The banners will be displayed for a month. Shown/hidden via a feature flag.
- Update the Rosa product architecture terminology in the "Rosa Getting Started" page and the 1st step of the Rosa wizard. Specifically, the 1st step where one chooses "Hosted" .vs "Classic" architecture.
- The UI team needs to coordinate GA with the documentation team which plans to publish the ROSA w/ HCP exclusive content in the end of July.
- After doc team publishes, the UI team can merge a PR which has the updated terminology changes AND the banners
- The banners need to be behind a feature flag which will initially be enabled
- On the 1st of October the UI team will turn off the banners via disabling the feature flag and remove the FF
-> Phase 2: This work will be tracked on the followup Epic: OCMUI-3659
