Goal
On the first boot of a generalized/syspreped Windows image, Windows configures the computer-specific information onto the VM. To get the required input data, Windows triggers the "Out of Box Experience (OOBE)' wizard, if no Unattend.xml is detected.
User Stories
- As a VM owner, I want to select my Unattend.xml during create a Windows VM via UI in the VM creation from volume dialog, so that I can use it without additional configuration.
Non-Requirements
- Creation of the Unattend.xml
Notes
- A config map like in https://gitlab.cee.redhat.com/dholler/example-vms/-/blob/main/windows11.yml#L46 has to be attached as sysprep to the windows VM.
- The "Authorized SSH key " in the "Create from Volume" might be replaced with a Sysprep selector similar to the one in VM configfuration/scrips
