User Story
As an OpenShift Admin, I want VMWare DRS anti-affinity rules for my OpenShift Control Plane so that its resilient to an ESXi host outage or crash.
Spike Description
In this Slack thread , the topic of DRS anti-affinity rules for OpenShift 4 Control Plane nodes was brought up. The OpenShift installer does not create any types of DRS affinity rules right now, mainly due to the additonal VMWare privilege requirements which customers do not want.
Research the possibility of adding these DRS anti-affinity rules into the installation process and create more cards.
- Is it feasible to add this into installer?
- Is it feasible to test this in CI? (both IBM and VMC)
- Is there an upgrade path if this feature was added?
- What documentation would be needed? UPI, IPI?
- What would default setting be if the addition of affinity rules was optional (i.e. install-config.yaml)
