java-17-headless provides JRE required by typical server-side services whereas java-17 provides additional features such as audio support most often needed with desktop applications.
Please investigate and if at all possible switch depending candlepin on java-17-headless instead of java-17. This would provide a reduction of installation footprint with the usual benefits.
On a minimal RHEL 9.6 VM the difference is very notable, however on a non-minimal setup the difference will be less pronounced but should still be worth investigating:
16 packages / 204MB installed size for headless vs 172 packages / 631 MB installed size for non-headless
Thanks.
