To Do
Description of problem:
On the Content Views page in Satellite 6.16.4, when a user applies a search filter and navigates into a specific Content View, using the browser’s Back button does not retain the filter. Instead, it returns to the full list of Content Views, causing a poor user experience and forcing users to reapply the filter.
This behavior is inconsistent with the All Hosts page, where the filter is retained after navigating back.
How reproducible:
Always
Is this issue a regression from an earlier version:
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Navigate to Satellite > Content > Lifecycle > Content Views
2. Apply a filter (e.g., name ~ satellite)
3. Click on any listed Content View
4. Click the browser Back button
Actual behavior:
User is returned to the full list of Content Views. The previously applied filter is lost.
Expected behavior:
User should be returned to the filtered list of Content Views, retaining the search filter applied before navigation.
Business Impact / Additional info:
This causes a usability issue for administrators managing a large number of Content Views, requiring repetitive filtering when reviewing or editing views. The inconsistent behavior compared to the All Hosts page may also cause confusion.
Satellite version confirmed: 6.
