To Do
What is the nature and description of the request?
The customer would like to have the possibility to edit scheduled recurring Jobs in the Satellite WebUI in the view "Monitor → Jobs → <click on job name> →Recurrent logic".
The customer requested this for recurring Ansible jobs specifically.
Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
- When the schedule for a recurrent job needs to be changed, currently the customer needs to remove the existing job and create a new one with all the settings and parameters they need
- It would be much easier, if it is possible to edit the recurring logic and edit the cron line
How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
- In the view "Monitor → Jobs → <click on job name> →Recurrent logic" they would like to have an "Edit Job" button
- This button should enable them to edit the cron line of the recurring job
For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.
1. Schedule a job that runs daily at some certain time
2. Go to the job and open the recurring logic view
3. Click the "Edit Job" button
4. Change the cron line
5. Check if Job executes on the new schedule
Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
I found: [RFE] Add ability to edit recurring logics and add audits support - https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-5383. As discussed with thadzhie, aruzicka@redhat.com, and ehelms@redhat.com via email I'm creating this RFE to triage the customer's request properly.
Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL8, RHEL9)? No.
Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input? No.
Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented? Yes.
