      Problem Statement

Within Satellite, added virtual machines (e.g., from VMware vCenter configured as a Compute Resource) can be provisioned and display power state information. In the host overview, this state is represented by a green or red power icon under the "Power" column.

However, this power state cannot be used in any filter or search—neither in the UI nor via the API. As a result, it's not possible to filter out systems that are powered off. This limits visibility and prevents targeting only active systems for automation, provisioning, or reporting tasks.

      User Experience & Workflow

      Requirements

      • Add searchable/displayable power status in Satellite UI and API .
      • Update documentation with usage examples.

      Business Impact

Since it's not possible to filter hosts by power state, additional complex mechanisms and workarounds are needed to find which hosts can be used in automation. This adds complexity and reduces operational efficiency.
