Satellite is being containerized and the installer is being rewritten. A large part of external authentication is implemented in the installer (which configures Apache). This needs to be updated for the new world.
On the development side this means extending the new installer, which needs to be tested and documented.
Today the mechanisms are documented in https://docs.redhat.com/en/documentation/red_hat_satellite/6.17/html/configuring_authentication_for_red_hat_satellite_users/index.
Acceptance Criteria:
- Users can still use same supported authentication mechanisms after Satellite has been containerized. Supported mechanisms are documented in https://docs.redhat.com/en/documentation/red_hat_satellite/6.17/html/configuring_authentication_for_red_hat_satellite_users/index
- Rewritten code is tested and verified.
- The documentation is updated
Open questions:
- How do we manage Apache
- Do we still use Apache for OIDC?
