the current implementation of the relational database part of rekuper does not have any mechanism for cleaning old data.

The preferred way would be to create SQL function and trigger object to handle this.

this might be added to the db-init sql script that is used when a new database is being initialized. for the existing and already initialized db, we might want to create them manually.
