Problem Statement

Request to add `--efidisk-only` to the search command in the `pxegrub2_chainload` provisioning template, like this:

search --file --no-floppy --efidisk-only --set=chroot <%= path %>

User Experience & Workflow

We have tested the provisioning of bare metal hosts with this modification, both when the host is using software RAID, as well as when the host is not using software RAID, and in both cases provisioning went through fine without interruptions.

Requirements

Avoid having to tamper with the standard provisioning templates shipped in Red Hat Satellite in order to make provisioning of bare metal hosts that are using software RAID successful. This improves the Satellite users' experience.

Business Impact

Implementing this feature request will help avoid hitting the issue described in Chainloading does not work on mirrored EFI partitions (w/mdadm) when provisioning a system via Red Hat Satellite 6.x when provisioning hosts that use software RAID.

If this RFE is not implemented, Satellite users will have to modify the standard provisioning templates shipped in Red Hat Satellite by following the suggestions in KB solution article referred to above.
