      Problem Statement

Section "1.8. Verifying DNS resolution" documents ping as the DNS verification tool but that is not quite true.  Ping can work even if there is no DNS resolution working but just /etc/hosts have valid entries of FQDN against IP addresses.

User Experience & Workflow & Requirements

Since having a proper DNS resolution is a hard requirement of Red Hat Satellite and Capsule, We should verify that using dig or nslookup utilities instead. The package that provides the binaries would be bind-utils.

      Business Impact

In a no-DNS infra, Just having an entry in /etc/hosts is not good enough. It may get a satellite and capsule installed but further can fail a capsule sync from satellite, since satellite is unable to properly DNS lookup the capsule FQDN and vice-versa.
