Problem Statement

When EPEL is served as an available repository on clients that have yggdrasil installed, the upstream version is chosen over the required version from the satellite-client-6 repository. This request is either to rename this package denoting something Red Hat Satellite specific or some other method to avoid mistakenly updating this package with the version from EPEL. The current workaround of excluding this package in the yum/dnf configuration is tedious for a large volume of clients.

User Experience & Workflow

When a user performs a yum/dnf update on a client with the satellite-client-6 and EPEL repositories enabled and yggdrasil installed, yggdrasil should not update from EPEL.

OR

The version of yggdrasil from EPEL should work with Satellite 6.

Requirements

Either the package is renamed to not match an upstream package from EPEL that could possibly be installed of a higher version.

OR

The upstream yggdrasil package from EPEL should work with Satellite 6.
