Problem Statement
Would like to have the option to publish repos inside CV/CCVs where only the latest versions of each package is represented.

On a single the amount of /var/cache/dnf space needs to be managed by adding extra disk space which isn't necessary.

Across a large estate (50,000 clients in our case) we are looking at assigning over 75Tb storage space for what is largely unused data.

It would be of great benefit to customers to have a much smaller dnf cache, for both the disk space usage, network bandwidth in sending the dnf cache data, and the CPU cycles in processing a smaller file for updates etc.

As estates grow, processing a large repo means more storage space and slower response

This Feature was previously requested (and rejected) a number of years ago in bz 1908894 / Jira SAT-2319 is it possible to re-evalutate this for a future version of Satellite?
