Description of problem:
Capsule sync of Capsule migrated from RHEL8 to RHEL9 via backup/restore fails with the following error:
Error:Faraday::ConnectionFailedNo route to host - connect(2) for 10.37.195.110:443 (Errno::EHOSTUNREACH)
even though DNS entry for the the Capusle server hostname has been updated to point to the IP address of the new RHEL9 Capsule server.
How reproducible:
Once
Is this issue a regression from an earlier version:
Not sure.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Build a new Capsule server (with different hostname than the existing Capsule) on RHEL9.
- Perform full offline backup of existing Capsule server.
- Using `satellite-change-hostname`, change the hostname of the new RHEL9 Capsule to match the hostname of the existing RHEL8 Capsule.
- Shut down the source RHEL8 Capsule.
- Restore the full backup on the target RHEL9 Capsule.
- Verify that all Satellite services are up and running after the restoration.
- Modify the DNS entry of the Capsule so that the hostname points to the new IP address of the Capsule.
- Perform Capsule sync.
Actual behavior:
Capsule sync fails pointing to the IP address of the old RHEL8 Capsule (as described above).
Expected behavior:
Capsule sync should not try to access the IP address of the old RHEL8 Capsule server after it has been migrated to a new RHEL9 machine.
