      Hi there,

In the last 2 releases of satellite, we deprecated snapshot backup. But in the documentation of those version, the procedure is still explained without any warning about the deprecated status

      https://docs.redhat.com/fr/documentation/red_hat_satellite/6.15/html-single/administering_red_hat_satellite/index#Performing_a_Snapshot_Backup_admin

      https://docs.redhat.com/fr/documentation/red_hat_satellite/6.14/html/administering_red_hat_satellite/backing-up-satellite-server-and-capsule_admin#Performing_a_Snapshot_Backup_admin

And in the previous section of those links, it's even mentionned "For production environment use the snapshot method"

      https://docs.redhat.com/fr/documentation/red_hat_satellite/6.14/html/administering_red_hat_satellite/backing-up-satellite-server-and-capsule_admin#Performing_an_Online_Backup_admin

      https://docs.redhat.com/fr/documentation/red_hat_satellite/6.15/html-single/administering_red_hat_satellite/index#Performing_an_Online_Backup_admin

      I think we should:

      • remove "for prod do a snapshot backup" of the Performing an online backup section
      • Add a warning in the section "performing a snapshot backup" about deprecated status then may be say that they should follow "performing an online backup" instead

      Thanks,

      Dorian
