This issue has been opened as a Task so that it doesn't fall between the cracks and the discussion can be contained.

The roxctl image scan --format=json flag provides greater detail for troubleshooting, but it comes with a deprecation warning, telling users to use the -output flag.

Flag --format has been deprecated, please use --output/-o to specify the output format. NOTE: The new JSON / CSV format contains breaking changes, make sure you adapt to the new structure before migrating.

Why are we keeping the deprecation notice if --format=json provides greater detail for debugging?

We in support are constantly re-iterating to customers, "hey, we need the --format flag, and NOT the -output flag", and its not a good look when its being deprecated.

This task is for discussion / clarification, as I maybe missing some important info regarding this.
