Overview:

This output format has been deprecated for years, yet it's the one which the Scanner team tells all customers to use. This is very confusing to customers and engineers, alike. Is this going away or not?

The Scanner team has mentioned that we cannot remove this several times in the past, but it gets forgotten every-so-often. This ticket is meant to make it clear we cannot remove this flag until a replacement is found.

Acceptance Criteria:

A replacement is found: whether it's under the same tree (roxctl image scan) or somewhere else (perhaps a future roxctl scanner debug). It needs to provide us with the same information as --format json does or perhaps even more.
