      Feature Overview
This feature will enable the adoption and integration of Proteccio HSM (Hardware Security Module) as a backend for Barbican, OpenStack's Key Manager service. This will provide a hardware-based solution for storing and managing secrets, such as private keys and certificates.

      Goals

      • Provide a highly secure, hardware-backed key management solution.
      • Enable a migration path for existing RHOSP customers who currently rely on Proteccio HSM integration.

      Acceptance Criteria

      • Barbican is successfully configured to use a Proteccio HSM as its backend.
      • Secrets (e.g., TLS certificates, symmetric keys) can be successfully stored and retrieved from the HSM via the Barbican API.
      • The integration is fully supported and documented for production use.
