Outcome Overview

This outcome ensures that the Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) 18.0 offering achieves a feature complete status, enabling it to support a comprehensive set of use cases required for enterprise readiness and broad customer adoption.

By completing key foundational and advanced features such as:

• DCN
• Storage backends for Cinder and Glance
• RHOSP 17.1 multi-cell
• instanceHA
• shift on stack
• spine&life adoption

we will unlock the ability to support migration from legacy platforms and expand adoption among current and prospective customers.

The outcome will also enable faster onboarding of new customer requirements for additional services like:

• BGP
• Designate
• Octavia
• Barbican
• Manila

Success Criteria

• RHOSO 18.0 can be positioned as feature complete for production use in strategic customer environments.

• The platform can support complex deployment topologies, including multi-cell, instance HA, and DCN (including storage third-party integrations).

• The most commonly requested cinder storage backends by customers are fully validated and supported.

• Customers can successfully execute PoCs or move into pre-production from RHOSP 17.1 to RHOSO 18.0.

• Field teams have clear guidance and support materials that reflect this feature completeness.

• Customer-relevant services beyond the MVP (e.g., Octavia, Designate) are prioritized through a clear intake and assessment process.

Expected Results (what, how, when)

1. Increased Customer Confidence in RHOSO 18.0 and acceleration of Migrations from RHOSP 17.1.
   • What: A measurable increase in RHOSP 17.1 to RHOSO 18.0 preparation labs and pre-production adoption for RHOSO 18.0.
   • How: Track PoC initiation and pre-production deployments via sales and TAM feedback.
   • When: 3 months after reaching feature complete status.
