IDH Sprint 2, IDH Sprint 3
There is a Jupyterhub metric for total number of users – we need to allowlist this metric so that it is available via Telemetry.
The new rule would need to be added to https://github.com/red-hat-data-services/odh-deployer/blob/main/monitoring/cluster-monitoring/rhods-rules.yaml . Once this is done, we will need to go through the allowlisting process
1. Justify the need for the metric on google doc and have Clayton Coleman Review it
2. Once approved, raise a PR to https://github.com/openshift/cluster-monitoring-operator. An example PR (that eventually turned out to be unnecessary) can be found at https://github.com/openshift/cluster-monitoring-operator/pull/1075 ..
The metrics allowlist is only updated with every OpenShift release, so it will be some time before the metric is actually available in Telemetry.
A full list of instructions to follow can also be found at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a6n5iBGM2QaIQRg9Lw4-Npj6QY9--Hpx3XYut-BrUSY/edit#
