Description of problem:
Missing validation for input fields characters when updating a data science project:
When updating a data science project's data connection, workbench, or storage connection using invalid special characters, there is no message alert to enforce editing the fields with valid characters.
Example of special chars are ł (unicode hex 0142) or Ĥ (unicode hex 124), as well as Hebrew letters such as: עברית
Prerequisites (if any, like setup, operators/versions):
A DS Project is created
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a data connection using with valid characters, and save it:
- Update the existing data connection with unsupported Unicode characters: עברית
- See if the connection object can be saved (it should not be allowed).
Actual results:
On step (2) we can save the following, with no input validation enforcement:
Even when trying to re-edit it, it shows that the characters were converted (still it should be unsupported):
Expected results:
Input validation should be enforced also when updating existing DS objects.
Reproducibility (Always/Intermittent/Only Once):
Always
