What were you trying to do that didn't work?
Inject the smartpqi driver via Driver Update Disk at OS install time using the boot argument inst.dd.
What is the impact of this issue to you?
Driver updates fail with "Read only file system" errors.
Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:
I do not know the package NVR. Testing on the latest RHEL 10 nightly RHEL-10.0-20250205.0-x86_64-dvd1.iso
How reproducible is this bug?:
Steps to reproduce
- Boot system with RHEL 10 ISO mounted
- Mount driver update disk - smartpqi-2.2.2-001.rhel10u0.x86_64.img
- Edit grub at boot time and append inst.dd
- Select the driver update to install, disk label shows as OEMDRV
Expected results
Driver update loads without errors as it does on RHEL 7 - RHEL 9.
Actual results
Driver update fails with Read-only file system errors.
