What were you trying to do that didn't work?

I used a driver disk (via inst.dd kernel command line option) during RHEL-10.0 installation, however the drivers from the disk haven't been loaded during installation. Nevertheless they were present and loaded in the installed system.

After selecting the drivers, there are some errors related to read-only filesystem, which is likely the reason why the drivers can't be loaded:

What is the impact of this issue to you?

It's not possible to use driver (update) disk to supply drivers necessary during installation, which may potentially hinder installations needing 3rd party or updated drivers for some specific devices necessary for the installation (e. g. storage, network).

Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      anaconda-40.22.3.20-1.el10

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      100%

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Prepare a driver update disk (ISO).
      2. Start installation of RHEL-10, supply inst.dd option on kernel command line.
      3. Select the device containing the driver disk, select drivers to be loaded and installed (beware of RHEL-58828).
      4. When the installer environment is fully loaded, check that the (updated) drivers from the driver disk have been loaded.

      Expected results

The drivers from driver disk have been loaded in the installation environment.

      Actual results

The drivers from driver disk haven't been loaded in the installation environment.
