RFE Migrate the storage with a destination of a different size

      The RFE-4606 for CNV requests the ability to migrate from one storage class to another. 

      Today, libvirt refuses to migrate a disk from a source to a destination of a different size.

      In Kubernetes, we could have cases where the storage provider doesn't precisely provide storage with the requested size but larger. For example, when the storage is already pre-provisioned, k8s will match the volumes with the closest size. 

      This RFE demands to be able to migrate to a destination disk with equal or larger size.

       

      Goal

      • Migrate a disk to an equal or larger disk size

      Acceptance Criteria

      A list of verification conditions, successful functional tests, or expected outcomes in order to declare this story/task successfully completed.

      • Be able to migrate from a block device to another larger block device
      • Be able to migrate from a file base disk to another larger disk
      • Be able to migrate from a file base disk to a block device with different sizes

      In the case of KubeVirt, all the disks can be considered to be in raw format
