Description
CUPS 3.0 will remove printer drivers, raw queues and others deprecated features and at the same time the project will split into modules - CUPS Local server, CUPS Sharing Server, libcups and CLI tools. We need all of them packaged and working in Fedora and RHEL.
The CUPS Sharing server will be the priority for Red Hat Enterprise Linux use cases.
Acceptance Criteria
A list of specific needs or objectives must be delivered to satisfy the epic.
- Implement support for driverless permanent queues in current CUPS
- New CUPS modules are packaged in Fedora
- CUPS RHEL/Fedora test suite is migrated/enhanced to cover the new modules
- ensure a permanent queue based on driverless printer can be shared locally by CUPS Sharing server and it is accessible by printer profile from client
- ensure a permanent queue pointing to a remote CUPS queue supporting IPP Everywhere can be shared via CUPS Sharing server and it accessible by printer profile from client
- ensure a permanent queue pointing to a printer application can be shared via with CUPS Sharing server and it is accessible by printer profile from client
- ensure a permanent queue pointing to virtual printer created by ipp-usb can be shared via CUPS Sharing server and is accessible by printer profile from client
