      Summary:

Keyboard input misbehavior after app instance launch via Activities overview witch Ctrl key

What were you trying to do that didn't work?

Workstation setup: in the Activities overview (gnome) its possible to launch/start an application instance with the left Ctrl-key - for instance: start the terminal app, and do it again while holding the Ctrl-key - afterwards two applications windows are open (the same can be done for example with firefox).

When doing this in the current RHEL9.3 release the keyboard input is misbehaving after launching the second instance.

I can not input any characters in the CLI (in the case of the terminal app) or in the case of firefox in the URI field. It feels like that the input is interpreted as I would still hold the Ctrl key.

After logout of the session and login, everything works until I do the above again.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      1. grep ^PR /etc/os-release
PRETTY_NAME="Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.3 (Plow)"
      2. gnome-shell-40.10-13.el9.x86_64
      3. gnome-session-40.1.1-8.el9.x86_64

      How reproducible:

      everytime

      Steps to reproduce

      1. GDM Login into gnome session (wayland)
      2. launch terminal via Activities overview (type "ter" and press Return)
      3. launch 2nd terminal via Activities overview (type "ter" and press Ctrl+ Return)
      4. Try to type something

      Expected results

Second instance of selcted application without keyboard input issues

      Actual results

      Keyboard input misbehavior
