Background:
Historically, Remediations playbook/Ansible bash script(convert2RHEL) projects used the playbook verifier that is shipped as part of the insights-client part of the core
Reference : https://github.com/RedHatInsights/insights-core/tree/master/insights/client/apps/ansible/playbook_verifier
In 10.2/9.8 to support the selinux confinement efforts on insights-client/core ( https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHIN-1668 ), playbook verifier was moved to a new dedicated package (rhc-playbook-verifier). As such, remediations no longer depends on the playbook_verifier code that is in core.
Scope:
Only remove playbook_verifier from the future release; Releases of RHEL from RHEL 8 till 9.7/10.1 will still need to use this for playbook validations as the rhc-playbook-verifier rpm does not exists in older version of RHEL < 9.8/10.2
Goal
- Removed/Obsolete the verifier that is shipped as part of the insights-client
Acceptance criteria
- Verify that insights-core no longer ships the playbook verifier code in future RHEL versions
- Verify that all existing functionalities of insights-clients is continued to function as it exists.
Out of scope:
No RHEL release documentations are expected as remediation experience are no documented in the RHEL docs.
