Description of problem:
Customer has multiple Ubuntu 18.04 VMs (look to be cloned and identical) that fail to boot after migration from VM. It fails to boot with: SeaBIOS (version 1.16.3-2.el9_4.1) Machine UUID ea69ea79-88cc-572b-8Ъ93-9779c78582a3 error:: disk lvmid/RhBoT0-Oze3-AN7J-Y9NU-HXKe-UA1B-lX9BHw/YJorQA-ZydY-gkbg-dHsR-fXxw-dkw0-xVJbxt' not found. Entering rescue mode... grub rescue> From grub rescue we only see: grub rescue > ls (hdO) (hd0,msdos1) (lum/vg00-swap_1) (lum/vg00-root) The source VM has 3 disks that are a part of the root volume group: PV VG Fmt Attr PSize PFree /dev/sda1 vg00 lvm2 a-- <40.00g 0 /dev/sdb1 vg_data lvm2 a-- <499.00g 0 /dev/sdc vg_data lvm2 a-- <1024.00g 0 /dev/sdd1 vg00 lvm2 a-- <200.00g 0 /dev/sdf1 vg00 lvm2 a-- <200.00g 0 + lvm vgs VG #PV #LV #SN Attr VSize VFree vg00 3 2 0 wz--n- <439.99g 0 vg_data 2 1 0 wz--n- <1.49t 0 + lvm lvs LV VG Attr LSize Pool Origin Data% Meta% Move Log Cpy%Sync Convert root vg00 -wi-a----- 439.03g swap_1 vg00 -wi-a----- 980.00m lv_data vg_data -wi-a----- <1.49t Customer has converted other Ubuntu 18.04 VMs without issue so there appears to be something unique to these VMs preventing a successful boot.
