According to Arunprasad Rajkumar,

We don't have a hard requirement on JDK8. If Java 11 is the way to go, we are fine with that.

However in addition to 3 runtimes(python:pip, java:mvn, node:npm), our side car also needs LSP support(i.e. it should be based on theia-endpoint-runtime-binary image).

To date, we've never used the theia-endpoint image as a base image for any of the above runtimes (stacks-java, stacks-python, stacks-node, plugin-java11) so I'm unclear if this is a real requirement.

Will need to do some testing to determine if that's the case.
