- Proposed title of this feature request: Red Hat Quay Global Read-Only Robot Account and Public Repository Pull Functionality
- What is the nature and description of the request?
The customer is requesting two features for Red Hat Quay:
a. The ability to configure a global read-only robot account that can pull images from all organizations and repositories within the Quay instance. Currently, robot accounts are namespace-specific.
b. The ability to pull images from public repositories when anonymous access is disabled. The customer notes that in their current MSR setup, all images are configured as public, which is not possible in Quay with anonymous access disabled. - Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
a. A global read-only robot account is a mandatory requirement for their image scanning process by the CS team. They do not want to use a global read-only LDAP account due to frequent password resets.
b. The ability to pull public repos without credentials (even when anonymous access is disabled) is needed for efficient image pulling, similar to their current setup. This would streamline their migration efforts and maintain current operational practices. - List any affected packages or components.
