1. Proposed title of this feature request:
An hybrid cluster with different providers (nodes)
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
It would be really nice if Red Hat could provide an option in Openshift|RHACM for an unique cluster in which you can:
- Create a cluster
- Be able to choose your nodes from different providers (AWS, GCP, Baremetal).
With this feature Red Hat will allow its customers to be able to create a unique hybrid cluster managed from Openshift|RHACM with different nodes (in different providers) so, as an example; that way those customers would be able to take advantage of their current cloud provider discounts for servers and manage their Kubernetes cluster from one console.
In my previous professional experiences I was in contact with many customers that didn't migrate from their cloud providers to another because they were tighted to the provider due to instance reservations - 1 year | 3 year term (as an example).
A similar example of this service would be:
GCP Anthos
AWS Outposts
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
There's no customer need in here. I'm a new hire in Red Hat and I joined today a session from Christian Stark about RHACM and this idea arise to my mind.
4. List any affected packages or components.
