Overview
This feature aims to provide support for multi-arch images in both Control-Planes and Node Pools. With this enhancement, the HyperShift operator will have the capability to run on multi-arch nodes. Moreover, users can run a multi-arch image for the control-plane or NodePool, ensuring successful execution regardless of the underlying architecture.
DoD
- Enables the HyperShift operator to run on multi-arch nodes.
- Provides support to run control-planes on multi-arch nodes.
- Ensures that both control-plane and NodePool can operate on any underlying architecture using multi-arch images.
Constraints:
- Users should not be allowed to choose a different architecture for NodePools if the Host Cluster (HC) is not multiarch.
- An end-to-end (e2e) test gating is mandatory before rolling out the feature.
