Workaround: swap the order of Chapters 7 and 8. Have a demo on autoscaling.

Description: Chapter 7  introduces scaling and autoscaling. However for autoscaling to work we need metrics installed (Chapter 8). If we did cover metrics before, then we would be able to actually show the students how autoscaling works, rather than just talk about it.
