Description: Chapter 9, section "Managing Memory Reclamation", bridgehead "Memory Zones and OOM". We still discuss the 32-bit memory zone architecture here, but RHEL 7 does not support the 32-bit i386 architecture. Should this discussion be revisited in a future revision?
Note that we do still cover 32-bit applications running on the 64-bit x86_64 kernel, not sure how that interacts here at this hour.
Also, this material may still be relevant to illustrate how 64-bit architectures work in general relative to other possibilities, or to better illustrate how it works to students who may be familiar with the older 32-bit model, so it's not necessarily true that figure 9.7 and the immediate paragraph following should be dropped, but perhaps they need to be modified.
