      Workaround:

Description: Step 4 (SG 22) has the archive copied to student@workstation and then extracted as student. When I extracted the archive as student, I received the following error messages:
      Cannot mknod: Operation not permitted
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors.

I'm sure the error is because student is an unprivileged user, but the error messages aren't generated if the archive is extracted as root. Maybe we should have the archive copied to root@workstation and then extracted as root. If so, the prompts in steps 4.1. and 4.2 should be changed to show root@workstation.
