Description: The setup scripts for the exercises in ch.10 all increase the GRUB menu timeout to 10 seconds which is critical to be able to interrupt the boot process and edit the kernel arguments. The scripts also remove the "console" directives which are non-standard anyway and cause problems for students because we are not using the serial port for access.
One wonders why the default image used by these VMs (workstation, servera, serverb) has the timeout set to a super-short 1 second. I don't believe this is the Anaconda default value. Throughout this course there are many storage configuration tasks and students often make mistakes in /etc/fstab for example. The 1-second GRUB menu timeout makes it very hard to troubleshoot such issues, especially in the ROLE environment where you may need to use the virtual keyboard to interact with machines.

The changes made by the ch.10 setup scripts should be the default grub configuration values throughout the entire course and not just during these specific exercises. Perhaps a 5-second GRUB timeout would be a better compromise. 10s is probably longer than really needed.
Similarly, I would suggest removing the console directives from the kernel command line. The default console should not be the serial port. I understand that curriculum developers may be using the 'virsh console' command on their hypervisor during development, but the serial port configuration should be removed before the course gets released.

We should be able to control the boot process conveniently even if issues occur outside of the actual chapter where we discuss them.
