Section: - Chapter Test: Controlling and Troubleshooting the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Boot Process
Language: en-US (English)||||||||
Workaround: Ignoring the Quiz solution as of now as it will create confusion.
Description: According to Explanation in Chapter 13 Section 1 and the Red Hat Product Documentations:
The kernel initializes all hardware for which it can find a driver in the initramfs, then executes /sbin/init from the initramfs as PID 1. On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, the initramfs contains a working copy of systemd as /sbin/init, as well as a udev daemon.
But the solution to the quiz states the opposite:
- A kernel and initramfs are loaded from disk.
- The kernel initializes and launches /sbin/init from the initramfs.
- Basic hardware initialization takes place
According to explanation basic hardware initialization takes place before execution of /sbin/init .
