Workaround: In the short run, linux-to-linux SMBv1 does still work.....

Description: SMBv1 is being deprecated in all versions of Microsoft Windows this fall. Microsoft recently announced that they will not install SMBv1 by default with the next Redstone 3 (version 1709) update for Windows 10 and Windows 2016. While Windows 2012 R2 still ships SMBv1, Microsoft recommends to disable it as it is becoming increasingly targeted with vulnerabilities and man in the middle attacks. The security configuration baseline settings for Windows 10 Redstone 2 also recommends to disable SMBv1. The update release is expected to ship in fall 2017.

The fix is probably to make sure our content works for SMBv2/3.

The net impact of this on the SMB server material in RH254 for the procedures in ch08s05 through ch08s08 need to be evaluated and the chapters updated. This may mandate a distribution update to RHEL 7.4 at the same time. In addition the SMB client content in Chapter 12 of RH134 needs to also be evaluated.
