I think leading the "Host Variables and group Variables" section with the older, obsolete, and discouraged approach is a bad idea. I'd prefer the training to show the way to do something, rather than the way not to. I understand that the old way may be encountered in old files and may need to be referenced, but leading with it seems wrong to me.
