Description: This is feedback towards the command-line continuation been used which involves including the ">" symbol on the next line of command. This causes an issue when the command involves grep, or the output is being redirected to a file. It has happened many times that the ">" symbol was missed to be removed while copy/pasting the command.
Copy/pasting helps to know the exact command to be entered if the manual command was incorrect. This helps in performing the QA by using the commands as given in the course content. While doing QA it also helps in confirming if the command mentioned in the course content is correct.
Due to the addition of an extra symbol, this needs to be removed manually for each line in the command and it becomes difficult if the command is of multiple lines or the output is to be redirected to a file.
In addition to this feedback, another is related to web browsers. Google Chrome web browsers allow to see the copied lines in multiple lines format and it is easy to remove the ">" symbol. Attaching a screenshot for reference.
But this is not the case with the Firefox web browser. The copied command appears on one single line. This makes it difficult to remove the ">" symbol and thus increasing the chances of students sending an incorrect command. Attaching a screenshot for reference.
