Workaround: Make sure that the network defined in the demo, guided exercise, or lab is the one in the "Selected networks" section.

Description: Chapter 1, Demo, Guided Exercises, Labs all showed the private network aready in the "Selected Networks" section with a "-" minus on the right that is very difficult to distinguish from a "+" plus. If someone clicks this it will remove the private network and subsequently the launch will fail because there must be at least on network defined when launching an instance.

This may be due to the fact that there is only one network defined as "available".

In the Networking tab, click the + button next to the demo_private (private) network.

SUGGESTED:
In the Networking tab, verify that the demo-private (private) network is in the "Selected networks" section. If not, from the "Available networks" section, click the + button next to the demo_private (private) network.
