      Description: https://rol.redhat.com/rol/roc/course/ServicesDaemons.html

The description of a service reads, "A service often refers to one or more daemons, but starting or stopping a service may instead make a one-time change to the state of the system (for example, to configure network interfaces), which does not involve leaving a daemon process running afterward."

I don't know if this refers to "network" in RHEL 6 or if it also applies to NetworkManager. I'm assuming it applies to things like "network" and "iptables" but a ps command on serverX shows: /usr/sbin/NetworkManager --no-daemon (so maybe this applies to NetworkManager as well).
