Technically, step 3.1 is unnecessary because autoconnect is on by default:

nmcli con mod "custom-profile" connection.autoconnect yes

In step 4.1, the `nmcli con reload` command is unnecessary also because the change wasn't made by editing the keyfile directly using an editor. I would recommend removing this one to avoid confusion.
